Y9 Students thrive in Wilderness Weekend

As a reward from graduating from Y8 into Y9, 140 Y9 students took to the wild to take part in a variety of challenging activities run by Bushcraft Company at their Castle Howard site. Activities ranged from fire and shelter building, knive skills, wilderness cooking and remarkably, they even saved some of the teachers in a SOS survival situation.

As always, Kirk Balk students were praised by Bushcraft staff for their hard work and commitment they placed into everything they did. In an age where modern technology dominates, this weekend highlights that Kirk Balk students really have what it takes to go back to 'basics' and can still have an amazing time.
